The molded plastic cradles the step giving the look of custom installation and allows the LivingStep to remain flush with the rest of the tailgate, allowing normal tailgate function.

The molded plastic provides an insulated and cushioned surface, which adds the extra benefit of comfortable seating when the tailgate is down. It has a slip-resistant texture to provide sure footing in wet weather. With the tailgate up, the LivingStep takes less than 2 inches of space from the inside of your truck bed.
